Female circumcision, in some part of the world, is a rite of passage, And for the community in eastern Uganda it’s also a landmark between being a girl and a woman, which must be celebrated. . There is a movement of Jews who are questioning circumcision, and working to end this abuse of children. The movement ranges from the Orthodox to the secular, and includes mothers, fathers, scholars, historians, medical professionals, activists, and intellectuals.
