Female circumcision as a rite of passage

Female circumcision, in some part of the world, is a rite of passage, And for the community in eastern Uganda it’s also a landmark between being a girl and a woman, which must be celebrated. However, circumcision has led to maiming and even death for thousands of women around the world. On International Woman’s Day, disputes between tradition and human rights.

  1. . There is a movement of Jews who are questioning circumcision, and working to end this abuse of children. The movement ranges from the Orthodox to the secular, and includes mothers, fathers, scholars, historians, medical professionals, activists, and intellectuals.
