Previously unknown Pakistani pop band, Beygairat Brigade and their satirical single “Aalu Anday” (egg and potatoes) have become an internet hit after skewering all aspects of Pakistani society, from politics to the military.
The single, named for an egg and potato dish served in Pakistani homes without meat, takes aim at notorious killers such as Mumtaz Qadri and Ajmal Qasab, the sole surviving gunman from the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and even the equally loathed and loved Pakistani military establishment.
